Job Description
Intern Coach Nicholls State University Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field
Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License to be approved for state driving list to drive Team 15 and 12 passenger vans for practices and competitions
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2 years competing or coaching at the NCAA Division I, II, or III or NAIA level
Preferred Requirements:
- 4 Years competing or coaching at the NCAA Division I level
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist Head Coach with day to day cross country and distance/mid-distance track & field practices
- Drive team 15 or 12 passenger van for practices and competitions
- Assist with recruiting coordination for all event areas: including but not limited to compiling database, e-mailing, texting, calling, setting up unofficial and official visits, coordinating visits, traveling to recruit at cross country and track & field competitions
- Assist with team travel: ordering team meals, team snacks, issuing and collecting travel equipment
- Assist with hosting home cross country meet and other team events
- Assist with upkeep of home practice venues and equipment
- Assist with all team volunteer and community service work
- Assist with team fundraising events
- Assist with sprints, hurdles, jumps, and multis practices as needed
- Must comply with all Nicholls State University, Southland Conference, and NCAA policies
- Assist with other job duties as assigned by Head Track & Field and Cross Country Coach
