Muhlenberg College, a Division III institution and a member of the Centennial Conference is seeking applications for a part-time Assistant Track & Field Coach who specializes in sprints and hurdles. Responsibilities include assisting the head coach in all phases of the track & field program within College, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations; including planning and implementing coaching strategies into daily practices and evaluating, identifying, and recruiting prospective student-athletes. This part-time position is budgeted for 600 hours per year.
Characteristic Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coach, motivate, counsel, and support student-athletes in realizing their potential for personal growth and development as student-athletes and members of the general college community.
- Attend practices, training sessions, team meetings, and contests (home and away). (Specific time commitment required will be determined by the Head Coach.)
- Plan and evaluate program results.
- Assist in achieving team success within and beyond the conference.
- Under the general direction of the head coach, provide leadership and support to all facets of the program in advancing the mission of the College and Athletics department.
- Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes.
- Promote strong parent, alumni, and community relations.
- Support the head coach in administering a competitive NCAA Division III program in accordance with college, NCAA, and Centennial Conference policies.
- Assist in team promotion through social media.
- Attend meetings and training as required by the head coach, Athletics department, and College.
- May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Related professional experience or a combination of professional and athletic experience leading to a similar qualification.
- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the Division III philosophy of athletics and adherence to NCAA regulations regarding operation of athletic programs.
- Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and engage with a varied audience, including but not limited to students, parents, College employees, alumni, and community relations.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive academic and professional environment where all members of our campus community are respected, valued, can succeed, and thrive.
- Flexibility of time necessary to make commitment to varying time needs of the position. Ability to travel and adapt to varying schedules, including evening and weekend hours, in accordance with the needs of the team
