Job Description

 

Position: Western Colorado University invites applications for the part-time position of Assistant Track and Field Coach focusing on the sprints, hurdles, and relays. The position reports to the Head Track and Field Coach and works closely with the athletic department and is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the operation of the Track and Field Program in adherence to NCAA, RMAC and institutional rules and regulations.

Responsibilities: The Assistant Track and Field Coach is responsible for teaching and coaching student-athletes to develop and acquire technical and physical knowledge to be a competitive intercollegiate student-athlete. Assists in fostering the academic, physical and emotional well-being of each team member by actively encouraging and supporting the academic success of team members and building positive team culture. Identifying talent and recruiting outstanding student-athletes to Western Colorado University. Assisting in all aspects of the operation of the Track and Field Program in adherence to the NCAA, RMAC and institutional rules and regulations. Assist with the administration of the Track and Field program budget including fundraising events, team travel arrangements, team equipment and uniforms, and summer camps.

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to support significant evening and weekend work
  • Proven organizational and recruiting skills
  • Ability to establish good rapport and relationships with players, administrators, staff, alumni, and the general public
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division II Track & Field practices and regulations
  • Three years of collegiate competitive experience.
