Job Description

Case Western Reserve University is seeking a part time Assistant Track and Field Coach, focusing on throwing events and strength training. The assistant coach will support the head coach in the coaching duties of the NCAA D-III Track and Field program in compliance with NCAA, the UAA, and Case Western Reserve University policies and regulations. The assistant coach will participate in all aspects of training of student-athletes as well as the total organization and administration of the program, as assigned. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Head Track and Field coach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Commit to a philosophy that emphasizes academic priorities for student-athletes.
  • Understand and comply with NCAA D-III, conference and University rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds and a commitment to an inclusive and diverse community.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of plans and strategies for practices and competition in the five throwing events.
  • Create a comprehensive strength training program for all event groups that facilitates the achievement of program strength standards.
  • Administration of home track and field events
  • Providing leadership in the personal development of student-athletes by projecting a positive and professional image
  • Aiding in all administrative aspects of the varsity track and field program.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Track & Field coach.


  • Bachelor’s required
  • Prior coaching experience and/or collegiate track and field experience preferred
