Quaker Internship Program Mission Statement
The Quaker Internship program offers a mutually beneficial relationship and growth opportunity for Penn Athletics and Recreation, its employees, and collegiate undergraduate and graduate students in the Philadelphia area. This program will enhance our ability to accomplish Penn’s strategic goals, recruiting top talent, and build strong relations within the community, while developing, mentoring and cross training future industry leaders. All applicants must have the ability to receive academic credit.
The Penn Track & Field internship will run for the entirety of the spring semester of 2023. The candidate will work out of the Penn Track & Field office 20+ hours per week, assisting with various program management and operations tasks necessary for the successful running of the Penn Track & Field program. Some weekend work will be required when Penn is hosting competition, with potential team travel also available if interested. Tasks will include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in the planning and executing of travel plans for the Penn Track & Field program
- Roster management and meet entries for Penn Track & Field teams
- Coordinate meals and snacks for the program as it travels to away competitions
- Coordinate meals and snacks for officials, volunteers and staff for hosted competition
- Answer questions and provide customer service for coaches, administrators and athletes attending Penn hosted events
- Ability to work well with others and in teams
- Think on your feet
- Microsoft Office
- Tech savvy
- Well organized
- Track & field experience is preferred, but not required
