Job Description
POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
GRADUATE ASSISTANT – Track & Field / Cross Country
QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) Bachelor’s Degree
(2) Admission to Graduate School
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with the implementation of all phases of Track & Field and Cross-Country Program, which include, home meet management, morning workouts, coaching assigned event (preference in throws or jumps), recruiting qualified student athletes, supervise and evaluate student athletes. Assist in program evaluation and development of rules, policies, and procedures. Manage daily administration of program activities, including correspondence with student athlete, staff and program participants. Weekends will be required. Other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience in the throwing events is preferred. Organizational and time management skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks at a high level in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in web-based administration, Frontrush. Ability to resolve conflicts within a diverse student athlete community, CPR/AED/First Aid certifications and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
APPOINTMENT: 9-month assistantship beginning on August 11, 2025.
