Job Description
Fort Scott Community College is seeking a knowledgeable, energetic, and dedicated Throws, Combined Events Coach to assist with the development and oversight of the men’s and women’s throws & multi-events group. This is a non-paid, volunteer position ideal for individuals seeking to gain coaching experience at the NJCAA Division I level while making meaningful contributions to a growing and competitive program.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Head Coach and in accordance with all NJCAA, Conference, State, and Institutional rules and regulations, this position will assist the Head Coach in the following areas:
- Assist with instructing the technical aspects of the sport of track & field to the student-athletes in the following event areas: Shot Put, Weight Throw, Discus, Hammer, Multis
- Assist the Director with the administration of practices (practice set-up, video recording, practice tear-down, warm-ups, warm-downs, etc.).
- Assist the Head Coach with official visits from prospective student-athletes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ years of high school or collegiate coaching/competing experience in multis and/or throws
- Demonstrated knowledge of NJCAA rules
