Hi everyone. I am still looking for a volunteer assistant for track and field here at the University of Dallas. This could be a great opportunity for someone looking to break into coaching or interested in being a NCAA coach.

General Summary:

The University of Dallas is seeking candidates for the position of Volunteer Assistant for Track & Field. UD is a member of NCAA DIII and the Southern Collegiate Athletics Conference. Preference will be given to candidates who have backgrounds in sprints/hurdles/relays/jumps/ and throws. Although I’ll take a look at someone with distance background as well. The position reports directly to the head coach. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.

Duties & Responsibilities might include:

  • Assist with workouts that will include two-a-days
  • Assist with recruiting
  • Assist with program-wide social media engagement projects
  • Assist with team logistics such as training equipment preparation, gear inventory and distribution, and travel arrangements
  • Assist with prospective student-athlete recruitment as directed by the coaching staff
  • Assist coaching staff with NCAA Compliance documentation, logs, and ensuring adherence to NCAA rules
  • Assist with transportation with rental SUV’s and vans.

Preferences:

  • Track and Field background
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must have a good driving record
  • Pass a background check
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently, when necessary, with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of UD, SCAC, and NCAA compliance policies and procedures

Hour Requirements / Schedule:

  • Position includes some evenings, weekends, and university holidays.
