Volunteer Coach (Pole Vault and Jumps/Combined Events) –

Job Description

Purdue University Track & Field program seeks applicants for a volunteer assistant coach with the pole vault along with the jumps and combined events. This position will report directly to the Head Track and Field and the Jumps/Combined Events Coach.

Duties might include but are not limited to: • Coaching the event-specific aspects of the pole vault • Practice set-up / break-down • Assist with organization and implementation of training for the jumping events and combined events • In-competition coaching responsibilities • NCAA-permissible recruiting duties – assist full-time staff in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes (PSAs), ability to identify PSAs, assess talent, build relationships, and guide PSAs through the initial eligibility process • NCAA-permissible on-campus recruiting duties (Official / Unofficial Visits) • Travel to off-campus team competitions • Attend Staff / Team Meetings • Assist with home meet coordination & operation • Execution of and commitment to NCAA Division I, B1G Conference, and Purdue University rules, policies, and procedures

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university collegiate track and field experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and administrative skills, and successfully pass a background check
