Job Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Track and Field / Cross Country, the Volunteer Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting with the daily management of practices. Specific event areas include sprints, hurdles & jumps.

Volunteer Assistant Coach possess working knowledge of all aspects of track and field. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and willingness to work with student athletes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with monitoring workouts
  • May be assigned to work with a specific group of student athletes
  • Able to attend the majority of team competitions and assist coaching staff during competitions
  • Assist with on-campus recruiting visits and home meet management
  • Must have flexible schedule and available to assist with practice between 1:30-5:00 pm Monday through Friday
  • Willingness to travel with team during spring semester as needed
  • Must comply with all NCAA, Big Ten and University of Minnesota rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Track / Field and Cross Country and assistant coaches
