Job Description

Arkansas Tech University is currently seeking applicants for the position of Graduate Assistant Coach for the Women’s Cross Country/Track & Field programs with an emphasis in coaching the cross country/distance events. Arkansas Tech, a D2 institution and member of the Great American Conference (GAC), is a state school with an enrollment of about 10,000 students.

Duties for position include assisting the head coach in all aspects of the program (practices, meets, recruiting, conditioning, overseeing academics, etc.). Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience preferred. Recruiting experience encouraged but not required. Good character & communication skills, self-motivation, and leadership skills are essential. Position compensated with graduate studies mostly covered and a stipend.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree and admission into a Arkansas Tech graduate program
• A valid driver’s license is required and must pass a Motor Vehicle Report
• Must pass a background check
• Collegiate running and/or coaching experience preferred
• Recruiting experience encouraged but not required

Compensation includes:

• 6 of 9 credit hours covered per semester
• $9,000~ stipend
