Job Description

Campbell University will be looking to hire an assistant cross country and track and field coach in early Fall. This position will work to continue to improve our XC/Track programs at the NCAA D1 level. We are looking for someone with experience with middle and long distance running or with a sprints and hurdles background.

Estimated start date around October 1st.

Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Master’s degree preferred
• Competitive experience in track & field (distance or sprints/Hurdles preferred)
• 1-3 years coaching experience preferred in Distance or Sprints/Hurdles
• Passion for the sport of track & field / cross country
• Ability to recruit
• Proficient in Word, Excel and social media
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
• Knowledge and willingness to learn NCAA Rules
• Valid driver’s license

Position Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning and conducting daily practices
• Recruit athletes that align with the goals of the program
• Arrange travel arrangements for the xc/track programs
• Travel with the team to competitions and assist with meet-day coaching duties
• Assist in fundraising efforts to better cross country/track & field program
• Maintain gear and equipment inventory and assist with ordering equipment and apparel
• Reconcile receipts and track purchases for Xc/Track
• Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
• Any other duties assigned by the head coach and Director of Athletics
