TFA 502: Advanced Endorsement in Long Sprints

**IN PERSON COURSE**

A 15 hour, highly specialized course designed for coaches seeking in-depth knowledge of running performance and athlete development. This course examines all aspects of coaching the long sprint events, including technical instruction, training design, athlete management, and the latest in applied sport science. Emphasis is placed on advanced concepts in biomechanics, skill acquisition, strength development, and long-term planning for peak performance.

As part of the Track and Field Academy’s highest-level Masters Mentorship series, TFA502 prepares coaches to guide athletes at the most competitive levels.

Upon successful completion of the course, any existing certifications you may hold will be renewed by the number of years specified in Academy Policy. As the 500 level courses are part of the Masters Certification curriculum, they therefore do not grant stand alone certification.

Prerequisites:

The minimal requirements for taking the Advanced Endorsement course are

• 302: Sprints, Hurdles & Relay Event Specialist Certification
• 403: Testing and Measurement
• 405: Sports Psychology
• 406: Injury Management
• 408: Sport Science for Speed & Power Events
• Your choice of either 310: Strength & Conditioning Coach Certification or 407: Weight Training.

OR

• 10 years of formal coaching experience
• 302: Sprints, Hurdles & Relay Event Specialist Certification.

Deadline: Course registration closes at 11:55pm (Central) on Friday, December 11th. On-site registration WILL NOT be available.
