Job Description
The Graduate Assistant Coach will assist with all aspects of Michigan Technological University’s Cross Country and Track & Field programs. Areas will include coaching, recruiting, program design, team travel, daily practice sessions, fundraising, mentoring, and others. The current coaching staff is committed to elevating the program to a level of competitive national excellence and is in search for candidates who can contribute to this mission. This role aims to foster the development and success of new collegiate coaches.
The position requires night and weekend work, and overnight travel to away meets. Grad Assistant Coach must be admitted as a student at Michigan Technological University and enroll in at least one credited course of their choosing each semester. MTU is a STEM-focused university with relevant degrees offered in Coaching, Kinesiology, and Exercise Science.
Compensation for the position is tuition scholarship at Michigan Tech University, plus a stipend of $3,000-$5,000 per semester.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Admission to and continued enrollment at Michigan Technological University
- Must pass a background check through Human Resources
