Job Description
Pittsburg State University, a NCAA Division II institution, charter member of the Mid-America Athletic Intercollegiate Conference, is seeking applicants for the position of Graduate Assistant/Intern – Track & Field (Pay includes a tuition waiver and a stipend which will be determined by qualification).
Pittsburg State is looking for qualified applicants seeking a profession in coaching at the collegiate level. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Assists head coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition. Assist with home meet organization, management, set up and administration.
- Assists in the identification and recruitment of potential student-athletes for the track program, in accordance with MIAA and NCAA rules, regulations, guidelines, and standards. Research and provide a database for Prospective Student Athletes recruit mailings.
- Assistance in the coordination and administration of the overall program, as required. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Coordinates Team Travel arrangements and other duties assigned by the Head Coach.
Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree is required. Experience in the Multi-Events or Hurdles is preferred as a collegiate coach or athlete. The ability to communicate effectively through oral, written and electronic forms with recruits, current team members and coaches is essential. We are seeking a highly motivated person who is interested in pursuing a coaching career.
