Graduate Assistant – St. Thomas University

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Administrative duties in all phases of the program.
  • Assist with all phases of competitive NAIA compliant recruiting.
  • Evaluate prospective student-athletes through game, showcase, and video observation.
  • Execute and evaluate practice and game planning, including video coordination. Directly responsible for position skill development in assigned area(s).
  • Practice planning and implementation.
  • Track, compile and disseminate scrimmage and match statistics.
  • Assist with the direction of camps, fundraising, and other program development activities.
  • Scheduling: Assist with arranging aspects of team travel including but not limited to: team meals for home and away contests and team lodging arrangements.
  • Assist the Head Coach with office and administrative duties.

Essential Functions:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and enrolled full-time in a master’s degree program at St. Thomas University and eligible for participation in the Graduate Assistant program (cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better preferred).
  • Must be/remain in good standing with the University academically and judicially.
  • Previous collegiate playing experience.

Recruiting

  • Identify outstanding student-athlete candidates for St. Thomas University.
  • Develop relationships with recruited student-athletes and parents/guardians.
  • Develop relationships with high school/club coaches, teachers, alumni, and others that can aid in the recruitment of student-athletes.
  • Organize, coordinate, and delegate recruiting tasks including recruiting correspondence via mail, email, telephone, social media and others forms as needed to coaching staff.
