Job Description
Graduate Assistants are hired at Wayne State College to assist in meeting the vision and goals established for WSC. Strategic deployment of graduate assistant positions is essential to ensure that limited resources are utilized in a manner consistent with the philosophy of WSC. Graduate assistants provide experiential learning in select areas and to assist the individual in a successful transition to future educational and professional opportunities.
Examples of Work Performed
- Responsibilities will include but are not limited to day to day assistance in the office, assisting head coach or assistant coaches with practice, academic progress, strength and conditioning, as well as aid in further development of new/social media and multimedia (Twitter, Instagram, etc.), and continue developing relationships within the local community to promote WSC Track and Field.
- Make satisfactory progress on degree program and maintain good academic standing (GPA > 3.0)
- Help with home meet management for both Cross Country and Track and Field meets.
- Assist with recruiting potential student-athletes for the teams.
- This position will report directly to the Head Coach and is expected to adhere to NCAA and NSIC regulations as well as the policies and procedures set forth by the WSC Athletic Department.
- Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, undergraduate GPA 2.75 minimum - Applicants must be accepted into graduate program of study at WSC.
