SPEED SPECIALIST CERTIFICATION COURSE
COURSE OVERVIEW
A certification granting course covering all aspects of speed development. The course is designed for strength and conditioning coaches who wish to gain training and certification in the design and administration of speed development training for all sports. This is not a track and field based curriculum, the course covers applications of acceleration, speed and multidirectional speed training in a way that is applicable to any athletic situation. Topics covered include speed/power based neurophysiology, biomechanics, acceleration and speed development exercises, long term and short term program design, and study of periodizational models for strength, fitness and mobility that accelerate speed acquisition.
COURSE OFFERINGS and Registration
COST
Course tuition is $260 for USTFCCCA members. Non-member registration cost is $280. Enrollment in the course is limited to the first 100 paid registrants.
CERTIFICATION
Certification is granted by the USTFCCCA for successful completion of all course requirements.
The Speed Specialist Certification is valid for five years from the date of successful completion of the course and all of its requirements. Certification can be maintained by repeating the course and again successfully completing the course and all of its requirements.

EVALUATIONS
To gain certification, students must successfully complete an exam within a specified time period following the on-site portion of the course.
