Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Track and Field Sprints and Hurdles Coach to lead athletes in these disciplines. The successful candidate will work closely with the track and field program to develop and implement training programs to help athletes improve their skills and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct daily training sessions for the Sprint and Hurdles event group, including warm-up routines, technical drills, and strength and conditioning exercises.
  • Assess each athlete’s individual needs and abilities and develop personalized training plans to help them achieve their goals.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to athletes on proper techniques and form for sprint and hurdle events
  • Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes.
  • Develop a comprehensive recruiting strategy to identify and attract talented student-athletes to join our program.
  • Evaluate prospective student-athletes, communicate with them and their families, and coordinate visits to our campus.
  • Develop relationships with high school and club coaches to establish a strong recruiting network.
  • Work collaboratively with other coaches, staff, and administrators to ensure the overall success of the track and field program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports science, kinesiology, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of coaching experience in track and field sprint and hurdles.
  • Knowledge of the latest training techniques and strategies for track and field for sprint and hurdles.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and motivate athletes to achieve their goals.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and supportive coaching environment that promotes the development of athlete’s self-esteem and confidence.
